I highly disagree, a lot of DJs use controllers now…

Umek, Carlo Lio and Nicole Moudaber all use 2 X1s, a laptop (2 laptops in Umek’s case) and maybe some other stuff on the side. I’m starting to think the X1 is the most common controller out there, they’re small, portable and easy as all hell to use.

I see the keyboard in front of the laptop, maybe that’s what he’s using. I know this isn’t one’s guys stuff, but how do you bring up tracks on a keyboard versus a controller? I dunno.

That pioner controller you see is not a controller but an FX unit the Pioneer EFX1000 and that part of the booth is eather not used this night or used by an other DJ might even just be a fixed instalment in the booth.

Thats just the house equipment at the club. Most of that probably stays put most of the time. I find it crazy that we have made all these advances in equipment but they still haven’t figured out how to get rid of the giant piles of cables.

Chris Liebing uses a controller too.

But that said, if given the choice who wouldn’t rather use CDJ2000s in HID mode over most controllers? If I didn’t have to stuff around setting it up (and I could demand as much as a big name) I’d probably do it every time..
