    Interesting stuff. It’s not an artist’s sole source of income. I buy much of the music I find on Spotify, for instance.

    I didn’t realize how close my take home pay is to minimum wage. 🙁

    That’s a pretty cool representation of the situation. I can’t imagine artists that get to be on Spotify relying too much on that income though.

    I for one will not touch that Spotify in any way.
    Because:
    1. It takes my jobbs, People having parties nowdays bring their laptop and a spotifylist instead of hiering a DJ

    2. The soundquality is awfull!!!!

    You make money on shows…even as a DJ. The goal is to get clubs to pay your travel costs and a few thousand for your time. Do that once a month even and you can make a decent living.

    You should also think long term, like an investment portfolio.

    And as a music teacher, Spotify is an absolute godsend! It streamlines my listening and transcribing duties like nothing else…
