I had the problem once before the new system. The offending track was one I had downloaded off of Soundcloud (I could have gotten permission but I decided not to bother). The way it works is they scan your waveform and if it matches a track on their copyright list then they yank it. Certain producers and labels have requested that they do not allow these to be posted and anything posted on their site is already on the list. If you alter the track enough then it can’t be picked out. Anyway, House-Mixes has a mashup section. Be forewarned they have had server issues lately though.

Mixcloud. But you need to add in the names of the tracks — which me thinks is appropriate as you use them without any licensing back to the originators.

Looks like the RIAA has struck again.

To get past this i’ve just been fooling around with the start of the song so its different and it has worked each time for me. This song…. https://soundcloud.com/#kadeunit/beat-of-the-moombah … was claimed for copyright with the original kesha start so I added the 50 cent acepella and re uploaded it and it worked.

Worse comes to worse…shell out the money to make your own websites. Post your mashups on social media and let folks come to you to download them.

Speaking of web sites, nowadays most good ISP web services have unlimited bandwidth/streaming and even in some cases astronomical disk space quotas. Maybe if you misuse this by installing an internet radio streaming server and having 1000+ listeners, then they might stop you…

+1 On Mixcloud – having your own website is a big plus but usually you get more listeners via well-known music-content websites like Mixlcoud.

Sounds good, thanks all for the suggestions! I created a Mixcloud account in the past as an alternative to Soundcloud. I didn’t push myself to use it as much but it looks like I’ll have to put the effort in and find the best way to use it to promote myself. Thanks Again!

My friend made a site for you guys to upload/share your tracks on, like the other sites…only not yet blocked:

    http://audiodrop.net/

He also offers inexpensive hosting and back end setup if you want to take the dive and do your own website: http://oneclickwebinstall.com

If anything, go “Like” OneClick’s Facebook page. He’ll occasionally give out a year of free hosting as a “try it out” ideology.

D-Jam, can you recommend a site do help with webpage development? I like the idea of having my own page to load mixes and other things about me, my DJing, and my life. I’ve seen your site, cool and impressive. I don’t know the first thing about webpage development. I’m kinda busy learning everything about being a DJ/Producer. Kind of a lot. Any advice would be appreciated.
