How do they do that? And how the hell does that work? How do they tell legit copies apart from freebies (like Dodge & Fuski’s “Guettastep” that they released on their FB paage/MediaFire)? What if I bought a song legit but play the leaked version because I like it better (Like Skrillex’s First Of The Year).

I Understand that Files (wherever we Buy them from) are ‘Tagged’ in a way that we Cannot ‘Alter’ (in Properties);
So that if I Download a Track from YouTube; it is ‘Tagged’ in such a way that I am ‘Unable’ to Remove Its Source;
This is what they (the PRS Police) are ‘Scanning’ for;
If We have a Legitimate Copy of a Music File; that File will be ‘Tagged’ in such a way that it can be ‘Identified’ as a Legal File; and as such (with the Club Owners Licence) will mean that the Original Artist will get ‘Some Fee/Royalty’;
If we have Illegal Copies of Music on our Hard Drive; and it is Scanned by the PRS (or Whomever they may be); it is Their Legal Right (in Some Countries) to ‘Sieze’ Our Hard Drive; and Take It Away
I definitely took it for granted as a child. I didn’t realize how unique of an experience it was until I was about 14 years old and in a US high school where 90% of the class hadn’t even left the state before. Too concerned with playing Mega Man.
