    I would go for stereo, you might not think you need it now, What if one day your going to need them in stereo, are you going to rip them again then. It will not take you any longer to rip in stereo only the files will be bigger. Also by riping them in mono you lose part of the soundscape.

    I myself didn’t have much information on this subject so I just did a quick google search.

    From what I got out of my quick reading is that mono would play your sound through 1 speaker and stereo recording would play through 2… an analogy i came across which im going to post here:
    Assume there is an actor moving in a stage from left to right and you can hear his steps.

    In a mono recording, you can hear the steps but you don’t know if he is moving left to right or right to left.

    In a good stereo recording and playback, you should be able to clearly distinguish which way he is moving .
    In other words, stereo gives you spatial information of the sound source.”

    thanks guys, i think thats why having mono helps on multiple speakers ie more than one or two etc etc, in otherwords in a club system i suppose. Thanks for the advice.
