Same boat as me! Haha I’d say go for the pioneer ddj sx, it will/should last you forever and a day. Tho jog wheels, the pads, it really is a fantastic controller and I probably won’t be buying anything for a while. You can use the mixer when producing, connect a phone/iPad to a channel and be able to run 5 decks if you want, and its professional look is a def bonus.
If you ever decide to expand to cdjs/vinyl, it’s also possible to hook them up to the controller as well. All bases covered imo. You could easily remix a track with the hot cue, roll and sampler functions

Thanks for the cents guys. I have been looking to purchase my 1st controller and decided on ddj sx but am constantly 2nd guessing myself as I have not purchased it yet. Your Post and comments are reassuring.

Well I did not like the non-mirrored layout, so I kept my Terminal Mix 4, which works perfectly with Serato DJ… but it is up to personal preference.

I have the DDJ-SX and it is all it is hyped up to be. If you haven’t made the purchase yet I would advise you to wait until the end of January. The winter NAMM show is coming up in January and lots of new stuff will be released. Make your decision once you see everything that is available. Pricing on the DDJ-SX may even drop a little to become more competitive with the other gear.

If you follow Numark’s FB page…they are promoting something huge coming on 1.24.13 that is supposed to “change the DJ industry”…

Take that for what it’s worth, but if I were you I wouldn’t pull the trigger on the DDJ-SX just yet..

sweeeet, you just made my day. thankyou so much for forewarning me. Im guessing obviously that numark is dropping a controller to compete with the ddj sx. so i shall wait and see.
