    Hi Raoul (fellow Dutchie – going to the dancefair?),

    I have no clue about fluctuating %s, but I am guessing this has to do with the quality of the stylii. I don’t know what you mean by annoying sound and is that on both decks? How loud is it? What frequency approximately? How old/new or the needles?

    I might be able to help with the sound, is this a crackling sound or does it sound like a fax machine.

    Hi Dj Emazing, no neither. I can’t even remember how a fax souds. No, it’s more a high monotone sound.

    correction to the fax machine, it would sound like a 56k modem trying to hook up to the Internet when you pick up the phone which would most likely be the high monotone sound. If this is it let me know.

    Yup that’s it. And i even purchased some new needles cause my old ortofon were causing problems. And even now with the new serato/ortofon the noise is still there.

    Sounds like you are listening to your timecode, which happens when your software is set to thru mode, you have to choose one of the other modes. Above the white “clock” there should be 4 buttons: ABS – REL – INT – THRU. Probably Thru is on now. This is the mode you need when using regular vinyls (i.e. with music on them). The other modes you have to figure out which works best for your workflow. Relative is the most used I think.

    Hope that helps.

    As far as needles (and timecode) goes, be prepared to spend about 100 bucks or more a month on new needles and vinyls.

    What Dj Vintage just said, you out put from the timecode signal is getting through, you maybe in THRU mode.
