How are you testing Serato Itch without the NS6 (or any other Itch controller for that matter)

You can download and install serato itch for free, but you are not actually running ITCH at that point. This is just the offline player for track preparation / etc. I would not consider the ability to play a song in the offline player any indication of full compatibility with running Itch. I’m not trying to say that it won’t work, but just giving you a heads up.

I made the jump from Mixtrack Pro to NS6 about a year ago and love it. Check out the Forums on http://www.serato.com about Serato Itch. Tons of issues with Windows…very few problems with MAC OS….

I’ve been testing Itch without an controller, so indeed just as a player. However, I have been using DJ Intro with Mixtrack Pro and that didn’t give any problems, and I think DJ Intro is a heavily stripped down version of Itch, but the engine is the same (I think). So I was hoping that Itch when fully running with the NS6 will not give problems either.

Ok so last week I went to a special DJ store to try the NS6 out, I must say it has amazing platters. But as I was leaving the shop, I noticed there were two NS6’s behind the counter with notes on them, I bleive they needed repairs. So my concern is now: does anyone have any exprerience with the NS6 being broken? Or is it a reliable, durable device?

I have been running a bunch of different softwares on my laptop with and processor. No issues at all. I’ve used the vci300 with the fx1 in both virtual dj pro and serato itch. Never had an issue with either. I do disable norton 360and other non essential programs just so I doesnt try to do a scan or something during the set.

Today I was playing around with Serato Itch (no controller connected) and I could sometimes here a bit of static, like for a milisecond, what you would hear if ou have gain way to much. However, gain was fine. I tried different headphones. I started up serato 3 times. First two times I would sometimes have this miliseconds of noise, third time was fine. I am really scared as I want to buy the Numark NS6 this week, so please help me out guys, is the problem that I have an AMD processor or may it be something else that is easy to fix?

    My specs:
    Windows 7 Home Premium
AMD A8-3520M APU with Radeon(tm) HD graphics 1.60 GHz
    8 GB RAM
    and my virusscanner is bitdefender

hmmm, turns out in some cases it might actually be gain, I guess I should keep gain in green and yellow is already at risk? In one case it could also have been a CPU spike, normally it’s at 5-10% but it would get for a brief moment at over 50%.
So far I have these possible solutions to optimize my laptop for dj’ing during gigs, but I’m not sure so any comments/additions are more than welcome:
    turn of virusscanner
    turn of wireless connections
    keep gain in the green

If you don’t have a limiter on, digital distortion can sond very harsh – clicks etc.

Yeah I hope that’s the reason. I’ve been very careful now with the gain and haven’t had any distortion/clicks ever since. I am going to a store tomorrow to try out the NS6 again and hopefully buy it.
