Apparently the easiest way to tell Mk1 and Mk2 is that the Mk2 has a 1/8 mini headphone jack as well as the 1/4 connection. If you just have the one 1/4 headphone jack then it is the Mk1.

KeymasterOh boy I love the new F/X, another thing Traktor had in its favour was just blown away by Serato… I think they are on a roll.

KeymasterWell review each effect could really take some time…
What Traktor F/X have and can do: Traktor still has more “over the top” effects. So if you want to go totally crazy and make effects that are total mental, then Traktor still has the lead. What I like about the Serato F/X: The sound quality is top notch (no wonder they are from iZotope) and I would consider it even studio quality. The basic settings are very good and not totally mental, so you can work your way subtle into the mix.
They work really well in both modes (multi-FX mode or one F/X total control), the expanded F/X mode gives you A LOT of parameters to work with, which is good for some effects and the smaller multi-mode still has good settings. So a lot is prolly also taste, but as I like the more subtle and quality approach I love the Serato effects.

I like your simple yet concise summary FX differences between Traktor and Serato. Thanks Terry.

KeymasterYeah the classic Reverbs sound more like the oldschool “spring reverb” or “room tape reverb” just in an excellent quality. The Epic Reverb can go from dancehall reverb, to opera house to crazy sh*t big cavern reverb.
So you can do a little “over the top” with those. Also the transformer and bitcrusher have settings that are really “out there”. -
