depending what you want it for, http://www.flvto.com is your friend if youtube is the only place you can find it.

Thank you for answering! i should have mentionend i’m searching for a high-quality file, 320kb/s-ish.

I already tried youtube rips, the bitrate of the audio is about 107vbr to 128cbr at its best – and it sounds atroucious on my home-system/good headphones :/

    But thanks nevertheless!

I tried looking on Google, but it seems there isn’t anywhere to get this legally.

I’d cosign on ripping the video.  For the few times I’ve done this, I use http://www.vidtomp3.com/  It seemingly can make a quality file.

If not, then hook up something to analog record the high quality version from YouTube.

*sigh* I did a new searching approach and searched for the author of an AMV (anime music video) i stumbled upon that has this Song in it. Turns out on there is a high(er) quality version of this AMV for download (uploaded 2006 or so). I get an 160 kb/s audio file from it – at least that’s something 🙂 Furthermore, i tried to contact the author of said video, still waiting for an answer…

I find it really frustrating not being able to grab a track i like in a decent quality. Normally this only happens to me if the track i want is on an vinyl wich is out of print – but then i can at least search on discogs for the vinyl.

How often does something like this happen to you?

Sometimes you have to settle and make the most of what you get.

I had wanted this tune, but couldn’t find a legal source:

I ended up making a vile of the YouTube video and just dealt with it.  Granted it’s not awesome clear sound, but it works for my needs.

Funny stuff. Millions of available tracks, yet we can still get worked up about some elusive track (that probably nobody in the crowd has heard from/about) that can’t be bought online 😛

Yeah, right – I guess thats what makes a DJ a DJ : “I want THIS specific obscure remix to surprise the crowd, not any other”.

That’s why I’m recently happily plunging through my vinyl collection to rescue tunes that where never digitally available onto my hard-drive, letting the people hear something they’ve probably never heard before. Especially nowadays where (nearly) every music is of digital origin and a CD is available as MP3,too.

It even makes me a little sad that so many (probably) great tracks are never to be discovered/lost because they’re on out of print vinyl. But otherwise, today there’s an overabundance of music and potential great tunes, so i shouldn’t complain 😉

“Jude on a ragga t(r)ip”? Now i’ve heard it all 😀

PS: why can’t i change my profile-picture? There’s no option for that :/

“Jude on a ragga t(r)ip”? Now i’ve heard it all :D

It came out in 1993 and I heard a few “connected” DJs play it.  Unfortunately, it was pulled from the shelves very quickly, as it was a bootleg remix and thus Beatles management/record label didn’t like the illegal remix.  I didn’t even know the name until a few years ago, but wanted it to put into some old school rave mixes.

I know many here are 100% against ripping/recording like that, but I still see it as a last resort when you can’t legally obtain said tune.

Try using Gravitar.  Mine comes from the connection I made to Disqus.
