Correct me if i am wrong but it looks like the “focusrite scarlett 2i2” dose not have any RCA connector inputs?
Standard Technics has RCA Connectors for its outputs.

So you need another external sound card (USB)

If you go for something that does not have pre-amp then you will need an amplifier to boost the signal from the turntable to the sound card.

Don’t think a mixer is essential but its handy to check the levels of volume of both left and right channels.

Please don’t sue me if i am wrong 🙂

Figured I’d finally make my first post to answer your question or point you in the right direction. There are two things that you can try. First and this might not be the best option or even work, but you can just get those inexpensive 1/4in to rca adaptors that you would find at radio shack or most musical gear stores (sam ash, guitar center, etc.). And then hope that whatever recording software you are using can boost the gain up enough (as well as the preamps in the focusrite). However you would still need to add an eq curve to the recording similar to the riaa eq curve set in most phono preamps. Or option 2, which is more recommended. Get yourself a phono preamp, fairly inexpensive (I have 2 BBE phono preamps for my decks which are awesome and got them cheap to boot, $20-30 on ebay a piece), one extra rca-1/4in cable or rca cable/quarter inch adaptor combo. Should work like a charm.
