    Well if the unit is faulty (and popping sounds and clipping are just that) then return it.
    Just buy from one of the many online stores who give you a 30-day return thingy if you do not like it.

    In my experience the S4 works just fine and if you fear you have to get an external sound card, in all honesty, you should simply buy something else.
    There are other good Traktor controllers, like the Jockey Remix that just came out or the high-end 4Trak.

    And I wonder how many of those complainers bothered (or even knew) to check things like latency (which, when set wrongly, can cause dropouts, hickups and popping noises!). Easier to go “hey, this sh*t doesn’t work!”.

    My point here, only listen to bad comments on forums if you know a little bit about the complainer or if it is a well argumented complaint.
