    Hey,

For broadcasting purposes a (large diaphragm) condenser mic is your best choice, hung in a shockmount. There are plenty around, from low budget (mind you a low budget condenser still costs a lot more than a low budget dynamic mic) to pro level (2.000 and up). Blue has some nice mics people on here have talked about and I am a big fan of Rode mics, as they have an excellent price/performance ratio.

Do NOT fall in the trap of getting a Shure SM58 for broadcasting purposes, it’s not a suitable mic, even if it is the most used mic in the world (live sound).

How recording your mic works often depends on how your controller handles the mic input. Some controllers allow to route the mic input to the software, in which case traktor can handle it as a regular input on the c or d deck.

If you get a condenser mic, make sure you don’t need phantom power to run it (no phantom power in the s2).

Excellent point! There is however an easy fix. ART sells a little box that provides in-line phantom power.

There are a few battry-powered “condenser” mics around too.

    I would consider this one:

    http://bluemic.com/spark_digital/

It has its own USB so you can route it directly to the broadcast software and you can control volume and gain directly on the mic outside the DJ app.

For its reasonable price it is an excellent condenser mic that rivals mics I have tested that cost triple ….
