MemberI have a digital jockey 2 which has all the same controls just more of them, only advice is don’t rape the transport buttons, they aren’t that strong and will break if abused, everything else is decent quality, especially since the mixage doesn’t have the push to kill eq’s which are a blessing and a curse,It’s great to have the extra controlls but the knobs are wobbly and don’t feel good to mix with.
it will be much better than a mixtrack, and you won’t need to worry it will break from general use.

Memberthanks for your answer
what the quality of the sound card
What is the latencyJanuary 15, 2012 at 12:30 pm #12832synthet1c
Membernever really used it live… I use an audio 8 for that… sounds alright in the bedroom, dont know either, prob 5ms, I didn’t change any settings when trying it. You shouldn’t really worry about latency unless you are a skilled scratch dj where it actually counts, 5ms is 200ths of a second. Only gear heads worry about insignificant crap like that, just focus on the music not the tech specs cause a bad dj running 0ms is still a bad dj.

Memberright above what ?
the bad gear or bad taste of music? i never see good dj whit bad gear
but i see a lot of posers whit very good gear and bad taste of musicof course is very important the tech part when you go digital dj

KeymasterAtom, 5ms is no latency at all, what synthet1c is saying is it’s nothing to worry about. Good DJs can play on pretty much any gear, remember that.

sorry Phil,I disagree
is not the same play with a Technics turntable and playing with a non-professional gearand to play tracks one after another
anyone can do it

MemberAlright I lied, I was only trying to apease Phil… he scares me a little with his constant pm’ing, you can’t dj on anything higher than 1ms, and even then it’s touch and go… does that sound ridiculous to you? if my controller had 50ms latency I would just use the jogs to correct the song position… try mixing on a pioneer dj 3500 turntables (my first set :() and get back to me
P.S. im drunk cause plump dj’s are playing tonight yeeeaaah!

MemberToday I received the mixage
I’m playing with it and really I’m quite disappointedit is impossible to find a point on the track
with the search function using jogsis highly imprecise compared to mixtrack pro and vestax thypoon
ask for help on reloop forum
and give me silly answers

MemberThe reloop forum is terrible, I made a suggestion of a future controler with a photoshoped image and recieved a reply of “you have too much time on your hands”… what software are you using… I generally figure things out for myself, the dj2 works perfectly in vdj although I did change the jog sensitivity in the mapping to suit me, I have heard countless stories about things not working optimally in traktor… maybe that’s the problem
January 26, 2012 at 1:17 pm #13395atom
Memberi all ready try virtual dj 7.5
traktor 2 le
traktor pro 2and same problem whit jogs
only virtual dj has better behavior on scratch mode
on search mode same problem
what versión of vdj are you using ?

Member7.05b
for the jogs to search maybe map them as
param_greater 0% ? goto +4 : goto -4
if that doesn’t work use “param_greater 50% ?” instead
that means for every tick of the jog it will move 4 beats in time with the music… if that is too sensitive you can add a multiplier eg
param_greater 0% ? param_multiply 50% & goto +4 : param_multiply 50% & goto -4
you can increase or decrease the multiplier as you please to get the correct setting
