If you do not need the controller to function as a stand alone mixer i would rather have the reloop terminal mix 4 than the jockey 3 you can get the TM4 for £425, link below….i own the TM4 and it is a very good controller.

thanks for replying DJ Psychotrance. They look very similar, what are the reasons you would pick one over the other? and is it fully functional with traktor? I wouldnt have a clue where to start with mapping.

The reason i would pick the reloop TM4 over the jockey 3 is that the TM4 is a newer controller with better jogwheels, better and longer pitch faders….in traktor when you set pitch resolution to 8% or 6% the TM4 pitch faders adjust the bpm in 0.01 increments which i don’t think the jockey 3 can do as it has shorter pitch faders. Also the TM4 is 4 channel whereas the jockey 3 is only 2 channel.
When i got my TM4 all i had to do was install asio drivers then update the firmware (which was quite simple if you follow instructions correctly), then download mapping from reloop site, you have a choice of 4 deck mapping or 2 decks with 2 sample decks, i chose the latter then import it to traktor pro 2 and i was good to go.
If you do decide to go with the TM4 and have any questions or problems concerning updating firmware or importing mappings in traktor just give me a shout on here and i’ll gladly help as i check this forum every night.

The Jockey 3 is a really tight Traktor controller. It gets the job done nicely and the standalone mixer capabilities are also nice. With the newest firmware its jogwheels are real tight in Traktor also and his layout is exactly like what you need in Traktor.

The TM4 (I have one too) is a little newer and has nicer jogwheels, but the TM4 layout is not as supertight to Traktor as the Jockey 3. It works nicely with Traktor and I like the 4-chan layout. The TM4 has outstanding built quality and excellent audio.

Bottomline: If you want a supertight Traktor Only controller, the Jockey 3 is really good. The TM4 offers better jogs and 4-chan layout but lacks standalone mixer and supertight Traktor layout. (It is ment as a Serato controller after all…)

This is pros and cons on a very high level, I do not think you can go wrong with either unit.

thanks for the responses guys, Just what I needed to hear. I think as I wont be able to buy another for a few years the jockey 3 is the one as it has the stand alone ability and is tight to traktor. if the jogs are sorted with an update thats the one. I`ll be ordering it as soon as my money drops so I`ll post again once I`ve got it and say how it is. Thanks again!!!
