    It is reasonable well built, on par with others in that price range.

    1. It is compatible to any software that is MIDI mappable, since it is a midi controller. Hence you can use it with Traktor, VDJ pro, Cross, djay and many others
    2. Yes.
    Yes, but as you say you need to custom map it to what you want. However it has fewer knobs than the X1 if I can recall correctly (was a while since I had a contour on my hands.)

    Did you try to map it in order to control two decks at the same time?you map it through the program right?

    Yes I did remap it, but I did not map it to control 2 decks.
    I remapped it in VDJ and you need to know a lot about the mapping language in VDJ.
