I think going straight to MP3 would work if you can do things in one take and want to upload immediately.

I’m more a fan of recording to wav and then converting to MP3…only because I like to normalize channels and tweak a few things.

I must admit, VDJ looks amazing. If I leave Torq it would be hard for me to choose between VDJ and Traktor.

I just like the VDJ script for midi inputs it is so easy to use and once you figure it out it is like speaking another language ha

I agree with you for some reason going wav to mp3 is how i prefer to do it but does it actually diminish the sound quality versus recording straight mp3??

I already think vdj is better than traktor, the only thing traktor has that vdj doesn’t is a chainable looproll/beatmasher effect and it doesn’t look as good out of the box, but I look forward to what djdad will do with a future GROM skin, and there is a trend of making minimalist “on screen display” skins as opposed to the busy hardware replacement ones of the past.

On topic… I don’t record in vdj because it doesn’t have a record meter, I use Audition on a seperate laptop so I can monitor the level on screen and I always leave some headroom. the levels can always be adjusted after the mix.

Well I record to WAV cuz 1st in traktor u only can do that. (btw in traktor u have a lvl meter for the rec)
and cuz it sounds so much better than mp3, I buy in the itunes store so its in AAC, and idk
I did record with an external program when i didnt have tr2duo and so i did with mp3.
WAV sounds so much richer, its just better than mp3,

and to answer your question if the qualy is subsistent: yes it is, iTunes doesnt change it at all, only if you wanted to put it on a apple device it would convert it automatically since those dont support wav
