    It also depends if the bar has it’s own sound system. If not, you’re going to need a (small) analouge mixer and some speakers (and maybe subs too).

    I would make sure you check out what table they give you, as you’ll want something sturdy. If they cant give you anything good enough, buy your own.

    As far as laptop stands go, get a Crane Stand. They are a little more expensive than the rest, but it’s definatly worth it. You’ll be getting the best quality stand on the market which is rock solid and will last for years.

    Hello Mills 🙂
    I have seen a Number Of People talking about the Strength and Portability of this DJ Table;
    The Instructions in the Video of how to set it up takes a while; but that is because the man is Explaining it;
    I Understand it only actually takes a minute or so to set up;
    The Price is Large Unfortunately; but just take a look as you Definitely need something to Protect Your Gear 🙂

    Both look pretty awesome, but stuff I’ll have to save up for. I’m sure I can jerry-rig somthing to work until then. Thanks!

    I have a cheap folding table I keep under a couch in my home in case I need one.

    Stay small, don’t overdo with gear, and keep that on the side in case someone doesn’t have a place for your to set up.

    That’s what I was thinking I would have to get. Now I just have to hope the bar that wants me to play doesn’t require I have speakers!

    Always ask. If you have to provide sounds, then look for a place you can rent them, but also make sure the bar is playing you decently.

    I can imagine it’s not terrible if you’re just bringing a laptop and control, but if you have to bring speakers, then they need to pay you more for that. I usually at least tell them the cost of a rental and make it clear they have to pay for that. If this place generally wants music though, they should invest in speakers.

    Okay, thanks for the advice. This is going to be my first gig so I’m trying to get a feel for what is good to charge, and what makes sense to charge extra for. The bar used to have hip hop nights once a week, but due to a cut budget for the DJ they scaled back to once a month. They’re gonna give me a shot and if they like what they hear and the price is right hopfully I’ll have a weekly gig.
