ModeratorOnly a few days ago version 10.11.5 was released, haven’t checked the release notes though.
This is way more common in the Windows world than it is in the Apple world, but it is never just a software problem, it is always a combination of the software and specific hardware configurations. Simple things as another mainboard, other RAM memory, other video card can cause problems that others don’t have on what at first sight looks like identical machines. So your conclusion that is must affect every Traktor DJ using Apple computers does not hold true. What I am guessing the pro’s do is wait a long time before upgrading their OS (under the assumptions that if it isn’t broken, you don’t fix it) and even do a roll-back to a previous version if possible if that restores fault-free operation.
I have no clue about the skipping waveforms on the Mac, I never installed Traktor on my Mac, I said goodbye to Traktor way before I got my first MacBook Pro.
Have you tried reinstalling the OS? This can be don without reformatting your disk I think and it should retain all your user settings and files.
Hopefully somebody else will chime in with some good thoughts and suggestions.

ParticipantWell, since NI has made a public announcement, it must mean that we are talking about a lot of people having these problems due to the software, hence the same as everyone has, because it apparently doesn’t have anything to do with the machine – I was just curious about if there are any tech-people out there who thought that it might be, because I am just getting frustrated with it… 🙁
I haven’t tried that, how do I do that?
But what OS will that go back to after that then?

ModeratorI had a quick read-up about this. You are in good shape if you use TimeMachine and have a backup from right before you upgraded to El Capitan, in which case you can just return to that state by restoring your backup. If you don’t have the backup it becomes trickier.
There are some online instructions on how to re-install the latest version (which will probably reintroduce the problems so will be of little help). I think there is also an option to go back to the version that is present on your Mac’s rescue partition, but not sure how to find out which version that is.
Hopefully someeone more Mac-savvy than me (I am a computer buy, but Windows by birth LOL) will jump in and help you out here.
BTW, I understand your frustration and clearly a greater number of people are suffering of this problem as you said.

ParticipantThanks for your help and yes, very frustrating!
I have upgraded just yesterday to the newest version although I dont know what version was before that,
but it was still the same problems that I had? – So not sure how much that will help.I had a DJ telling me, as he has the same equipment I have, to in settings:
“Switch the output from the focusrite to built-in output, then switch it back”– Can you confirm if this works and what does “focusrite” mean?

Moderatorfocusrite is a brand of sound cards, perhaps he was using one?
I think I did see something like that as a workaround in the Traktor link you shared. Instead of Focusrite you probably have to read “your sound card”.
This apparently resets the audio driver.

ParticipantThe only two options I have when I got my traktor plugged-in, is:
The traktor s4 and the build in one, on my computer, so you mean the traktor s4 option as the Focusrite?
Or where exactly am I finding where it says “focusrite” in traktor pro? Thanks for your help man

ModeratorIt won’t say focusrite I think. That would be that person’s sound card. In your case I’d assume it means switching from S4 to built-in and then back.

ParticipantOkay great – I have done that and has not caused problems since yesterday…
So I hope that will work more consistently 🙂 Until the next Apple update arrives to save us all 🙂May 29, 2016 at 4:52 pm #2401661DJ Vintage
ModeratorGlad you have at least some kind of work-around that works for you.
