    Have you got key lock on? That can cause a thinning effect like you describe,

    Yeah it was on, but the track was brought back to its original tempo straight away yet still had this effect, would having it on key-lock still make this happen even with the track at its original tempo?

    In my experience it shouldn’t but you could obviously do a little test to find out.

    I have done a little Searching for you; and your Challenge ‘Could Be’ related to the Genre of Tracks you are Mixing;
    However; on the Page that I am including the Link For; are some Fabulous Tutorials which could Quite Possibly have the Answer to your Question; I Hope So anyway 🙂

    Hi MC6,
    The reply from Phil should solve the problem as it done for me. However you may also tweak this:
    – Don’t use “safe mode”: goto Config/Performance/Safe Mode [Clear] un-tick, as the safe mode compromise the sound quality for the sake of PC performance.
    – Also don’t let the software “fully” sync the beat for you, shift the tune slightly – of course at the right direction – and JUDGE your ear.

    Thanks for the help guys, problem solved 🙂 I didn’t realise I had “smart play” on the side of which the song was playing, took it off and for some reason it sounds fine again!
