Denon gear is built like a tank, and the 3000 uses mostly the same components as their higher end gear. Pioneer is also completely unreasonable in their pricing – I’m not a Pioneer hater and in fact I like a lot of the stuff they make, but I would never agree to pay the hyper-inflated prices they charge just for “the name”. In general, the technology they put in and the feature sets they use are available elsewhere for less, and often on a higher quality build.

More to your specific question – the 3000 isn’t tied to bus power and has better options in the event of a PC failure. And of course, the Ergo has those damn lights… lol

The Ergo isnt even in the same class as the S2 in my opinion…the jogwheels and feel of the ERGO is more like a CDJ200…its cheap feeling…all the knobs and buttons are plastic…and has those damn annoying ass lights.

The ERGO is meant as a consumer product.

The S2 and the MC3000 are more professional products…I know i might get flamed for this

IF i were to choose between the S2 and the MC3k i would have to go with the MC3k purely on the construction factor…You could probably kill someone with the MC3k and still be banging out a good beat…S2 not so much.

The Only real advantage the S2 has over the MC3000 is the Tighter integration with Traktor and also the S2 comes with a full copy of Traktor Pro 2.

Im pretty sure the MC3k also has a hybrid standalone mixer mode which is a big bonus.
