    Sorry but that products are all really bad and I mean really really bad.
    The cheapest you will get powered PA monitors in that bracket are Mackie Thump 15s.

    Actually, an option to buy locally is Proel (Italian company). They have a nice 2.1 setup that I believe is in or close to your price range, (trans)portable and sound pretty decent and loud enough for it’s size.

    Two other comparable offerings are HK Audio Nano 300 and 600 (personally I think the 600 is the only real option, but that is a bit higher than your budget) and the LD Systems Dave (8 through to 12 or 15″ I think).

    A friend of mine in the UK did some research for me and FORCED me to buy a pair of ELECTRO VOICE ZLX – 12P that were on special offer. A bit out of my price range, but aparently I won’t regret it.

    Thank you both for your help and advice. I’ll let you know what the EV’s are like…

    EVs are nice. Personally I am not too fond of them, but that is a highly personal matter. Technically and musically they will definitely suit your purpose I think.
