    Welcome to the forums 🙂
Finally another member with a huge LP collection, although I have to say mine is largely collecting dust in my basement…
If you are thinking about new gear do not forget to check out our free guides and our large selection of video tests of the latest equipment. They can be really helpful. Hope to hear more from you soon 😉

Thanks Terry 42 for the welcome. Yes, when I grow up I plan to convert a few things from those LPs to incorporate into my mixes. Meanwhile, I think I’m about one click away from buying the Vestax VCI-400. I have read DDJT’s Controller buying guide several times and have been looking at video reviews about it… and given some other skills I’ll have to hone, looks like I’ll be able to go either way, VDj or Tracktor with that one, plus I like it ruggedness and other features I can grow into. I’m all about growth at this stage. Figure I can play with that one for a few years. Can you tell me exactly where DDJT’s video review of it is? Can’t recall if I saw it or not. Thx, Terry 42…and happy Moderating!

No problemo you can find the full review on the VCI 400 here:

It is a really good unit. With the new firmware you can also use it as a standalone mixer, which was not possible at the time of the review.

Thanks again, Terry_42. I still haven’t made a move. Its looks pretty complex for an intermediate user like myself and I see there is no booth out. (Sure would like to get off this fence, though, especially where the software choice is concerned!)

You are right, the 400 is a tricky tool that only comes into full blooming if you customize the mapping etc.

Software is another thing I was also deciding for along time which way to go… not easy. I really like the easy way of Serato but I had no controller appealing to me, so I went for the Terminal Mix 4 with VDJ and am quite satisfied. It is not very complicated, but has all the stuff I need in a good package and since I too come form turntables I love the big jogwheels.

Thanks. I looked at that controller, amongst the many and will now go back and revisit its reviews. One thing for sure, Terry, whenever I do finally make my decision and purchase, there will be some crazy, rambunctious musical jubilation going on around here for a couple of days (and nights) straight! Whomp! Whomp!
