    Hi, first of all, nobody can recommend headphones. Everyone’s head is different and everybody has a different set of features they are looking for. For example, if you wear earplugs in the booth (some of us do), then noise cancellation (or better insultation) is not really important. By the way, true noise cancellation is an active technique, which requires batteries for example.

    a) See above. Might consider in-ears
    b) Sennheiser HD25, indestructible. They are ON-ear, so might not fit your criteria under a)
    c) See b)
    d) Highly personal, can’t comment
    e) forget the HD25s, although they are going down in price a bit, they are still a bit above 150 dollars

    For cheap (backup) you should get a set of Sennheiser HD201s. At 20 dollars they are the best buy of the century. If you want to buy your headphones for forever, maybe save up two more months and get HD25s.

    Or search the forum and read the blog. Lots of information on DJ headphones.

    I don’t think the HD215 is really suitable for DJ-ing, but that is my personal opinion. The HD280Pro I have only used once I think and as memory serves I found it to be relatively big. And since I don’t like big, that one wasn’t for me.

    I think you mean sound isolation, not noise cancellation. As Vintage mentioned, noise cancellation is an active process that is not at all appropriate for a set of booth monitor headphones. Sound isolation refers to how much background sound bleeds in to your ear from the surrounding room.

    I like my Urban Ears Zinken, fits your criteria. Rrp is £120 but if you shop around you can get them much less. Also they are really good imho.

    Checkout V-moda Crossfade LP2. I’ve had mine for 3+ years now and listen to music for most of my day (2-12 hours). They are noise-isolating and sound really good, also really durable.

    Yeah, I’d say just dig around Ebay and look up reviews on websites. (Preferably this one 😉 ) I bought a pair of brand new AIAIAI TMA 1s for 100$USD and other than the dreaded headband issue, (Which AIAIAI replaced with barely any questions) I’ve been more than happy with. The fact they’re tuned for Electronic music has also stopped me from wearing them full time which is probably a good thing as I’m rough on headphones. Otherwise, I get to keep using my pads & cord if I decide to do the TMA 2 to save me some $ while I buy ’em piece by piece.

    Best of luck though with whatever you find that works though!

    Thank you very much for the advise…
    I am going to wear a Customised Ear Plugs of around $40.00.
    However would you suggesy if I should go for Active Noise Cancellation Headphones.
    My budget is max $250

    I was looking for
    **Audio Technica ANC9
    **Audio Technica ANC7B SVIS noise Cancellation
    **HD25(as earlier suggested, checked and found there are many versions of it. Nor sure which one to choose)

    I want one OVER THE EAR headphone which will help me to mix songs if the main speakers are installed behind me….

    Pleasr advise…

    Active Noise Cancellation does not work especially well in a DJ setting.. What you want is Passive Noise Isolation instead – where the physical headphones stop the sound from coming in rather than some computer trickery which can degrade the sound quality.

    If you want Over-Ear headphones, don’t get the HD25’s as they are On-Ear..

    And I would hope that you would never have the main speakers behind you.. That’s not going to make your life easy at all..

    Like you suggested Active Noise Reduction Headphones are not suitable for live DJ performances, Can you please help me to decide on any of the following Passive Noise Reduction Headphone:

    Audio Technica ATH-M50x,

    Audio Technica ATH-A500x,

    Vs
    Senheiser HD 280 Pro

    or anything that is better Over Ear Headphone..

    I cannot recommend any further than what has been said already.. What you need to do is go and try some on, for comfort and for sound and see which pair is best for you..

    Personally, I use Audio Technica M40X’s which are great – they sound good and the isolation is decent.. The M50 has better isolation (which I have found out after buying mine) but not by much..

    All of those three are good pairs of headphones.. Pick the best one for you by trying them out..

    Thank you very much DJ bob6397 for the advise 🙂 I am very grateful to your reply. It helped me a lot to come to a conclusion in buying headphones for live DJ programs.

    However in my place we dont have these DJ purpose headphones available in stores and mostly Gaming Headphones are available..All we can do is import from other countries by paying almost 50% or more from the original price and it becomes very expensive to return and get a different piece. Therfore I wanted an expert advise to be sure of which one serve my purpose of starting a DJ program. I have gone through many Youtube & Google reviews but all they could do is confuse me more.
