Please explain mapping - Digital DJ Tips

mapping it the expression of programming the link of what you hit/spin etc. on your controller and what it does in your DJ software. Aka when I press this button I want it to engage F/X 1 etc.
It is done differently in most DJ software and you would have to refer to the softwares manual to get it done.
