Exactly what I was thinking…. still I am a bit anxious that it might be too big, ah what the heck.

ParticipantWill have enough money after this weekend to place my pree order 😀 but thomann.de won’t have it ontill 5. of november 🙁
Imagine if this had send/return 😀 adding and RMX1000 to the setup 😀 it can still be done but s/r would be better.
I’ve spent most part of the week planing how to map it bet for traktor pro, with 2.6 bringing flux mode it can become the ultimate Traktor controller too.October 11, 2012 at 7:09 pm #29729CalVic

Just to let you know that Pioneer are going to release a traktor mapping. But as well all know that most of the time mappings for other software can be dire and not as near adequate, but I would certainly be interested in the mapping you come up with Gulli.
Only a few more weeks now! Seriously looking forward to it.

ParticipantOrder placed 😀 so happy now I never got the VCI400, by the look of how it works I would asume the decks are mapped to individual midi chanels ( as the VCI400) to be able to send 2 comands in dual deck mode. that will make mapping so muche easier. Just mapp one deck and copy in Xtream mapper and change channels.

ParticipantHow come this is $300 less in US than in UK? What happen there?
While I can see myself selling my TM4 to get this for $1000, there is absolutely no way I’m going to buy this for $1300.October 19, 2012 at 12:46 am #1013968CalVic

Nice one! You know, I had a chance to play with a VCI400, and I cannot help but think that’s one over priced entry-level looking controller, and the jog’s feel bleh in my opinion.

MemberI was really stoked when the SX was announced and interested in buying one. It ticks all the boxes but I think size is an issue. Saw a nice comparison picture somewhere on the DJTT forums, and this thing is like…huge! I mean, that’s not a problem for having it sit at home, but as soon as you wanna gig on it? No way anybody wants to lug it around, there’s no room to set up anyways. But I want a well made 4 deck controller I can still carry around. Plus now that there’s more info on Serato DJ available… the UI looks pretty “meh” to me.
I ordered a VCI 400 EGE now. Smallest footprint of the top contenders, very well built…
What’s your guys’ take on the size problem? Ur just gonna use it at home and then DJM + CDJs at the club?

KeymasterI am still holding off on it, since I am undecided if the size is really for me… and I am quite happy with my TM4, it is just the pads (aka not having to carry a midifighter anymore)… but then the midifighter is light and fits my backpack and the SX prolly needs a flightcase as it would be too heavy for a bag.

ParticipantI have the VMS4 and 2 Radius 3000 needing 2 flightcases to cary them when playing. The VMS4 alone weights 6 kg witch is about the same as the SX and I manily have the Radius 3000 for the larger pitch fader and Jog wheel. The DDJ SX is bigger then the VMS4 but still much smaler then my combined current setup. I will be bringing the DDJ SX to my gigs. The club I play most at will be getting 2 CDJ 2000 and a DJM800 within the next 2 weeks and will be the only club in my country that has a setup that is Rekordbox compatable. So I might just use them for some gigs but the way I’ve been DJ’ing the last 2 years I don’t think I want to skip using Traktor.

Participantthe DDJ-SX has potential, and I know it supposedly has a ‘standalone’ mixer that can be used with other inputs plugged in. but does anyone know if it gives you the option to switch between internal vs external mixer while plugged in to your software? so far, the only controller out there with an independent mixer is the Denon mc6000. while connected to the software, it allows you to use the internal EQ’s or external EQ’s that are not linked to the software. this option is amazing as it gives you the ability to choose what sound you prefer. the EQ’s of a high-end mixer (eg. DJM 800) are completely different to the EQ’s of serato or VDJ. so I’m hoping it has that option.

MemberThat’s a really good and important question, as I’d love to have that option and the VCI 400 can’t do that afaik

ParticipantIn one of the videos think it was djworx from bpm he mentioned that the filter could be hardware or software. but I guess it depends on input selector switch. I’m not 100% sure what you mean by switching from internal eq to external. But my VMS can also use external EQ witch is wat I’ve alwasy used and can also be set to bypass the EQ of the hardware mixer. I do guess if you can switch it’s done with a button press combination on startup like on the VMS.
