The difference in price between the two is what matters. So are you willing to spend 300 (or so) MORE on a first controller.
If you are getting a beginner controller and budget is an issue, currently the answer would have to be to get the BeatMix 4 which comes with FULL Serato at an incredible price.
The way I look at it is this:
1) Pioneer equipment holds it value pretty good. If you decide this game is not for you (and you will know in months, not years, trust me), you can sell both for a relatively good price. Let’s say you lose 30% on the new price. That means you actually only lose 30 of the price DIFFERENCE! when you resell, i.e. 90 bucks or so.
2) IF you DO decide the game is for you, you will have figured that out on the better piece of equipment and you don’t have to go through the process of selling (at a 30% loss) the “lower” end Pioneer in order to get the higher end one to continue DJ-ing with.
Just my two cents. Hope it’s of any help.
