Now if you tell us what you have there (Manufacturer, Article Number,…) we could possibly help you.

From this description I can only say: It might work…

    Hi,

I agree with Terry about needing more info.

There are some concerns I can voice based on what info IS there.

Is the power spec on the amp in RMS? There are some conflicting values there too.

Is there any kind of crossover filter to seperate low/mid and higer and sub? Could be in the sub, could be in the top and could theoretically be in the amp.

With only 1 sub and two tops, I don’t see a good way of hooking it all up to one 2-channel amp. If you have an external active crossover, you could probably hook up the sub to one amp channel and the the tops (parallel) to the other channel. It would mean having mono sound though. Not a biggie, but something you need to know.

If the sub has a passive cross-over (or the top), you could hook up one to the other and both to one channel on the amp. Since you only have one sub, that would mean one channel would have a different load than the other, not a situation you like to see.

Again, if it is bought as a set it might work like Terry says. So give us some more details and we’ll let you know.

    Greetinx.

    Amp

Sub is end of life I think not on website, but here are the specs:

    Frequency Range (-10dB) – 40Hz-2KHz

Power Capacity (Continuous pink noise) – 400W

    Nominl Impedance – 4 ohms

    Sensitivity (1W@1m) – 97dB

    LF Driver – F1503A (aluminum)

    Max SPL – 127dB

    Input Connectors – 2 x Speakon

    Hope that helps.

And thanks for all the help so far.

Also the 4 ohm sub seems a bit random to me is there anywhere where the resistance would be written on the sub itself… its in storage ATM and I just have the manuals.

Multimeter would be the answer to that question.

I am afraid the sub is not gonna work m8. Nothing about active/passive crossovers anywhere. So, afraid that’s not gonna cut it. On the other hand, not sure how big the gig is, but the two 15″ should be able to handle a fairly decent size room. Say 10W per person if you want serious loudness. That’s a good 50 people. Slightly more conservatively indoor use is about 5W per person, so a 100. Take a nice average and you should have no problem serving about 70-75 ppl.

    Good luck,

    Chuck

Really, you do need  an active crossover and two amps,  one amp for subs and one amp for tops.

Flow chart is mixer->crossover-> amps-> speakers.
