    Hi,

I have your exact setup and I have a coffin. (http://store.roadreadycases.com/dyn_prod.php?p=RRCDJ200012W).

I have been in this business long enough to look at the price of gear and adding at least 25% for cases. It’s the way we roll. Life on the road takes it’s toll on gear really quick and looking professional when you show up for a (well) paid (mobile) gig is paramount. Cardboard boxes won’t get you invited back LOL.

I prefer hardcase for a) the protection they give, b) the image they project, not only when you walk in, but also while in use at the gig (it’s why I got a professional-looking flightcase-like DJ Stand instead of using whatever table or surface is available) and c) the fact that if all your gear is in one coffin, you can have it all hooked up properly and tested and all you need is to plug in headphones, speakers, booth speaker, power and laptop (I have a USB-switch in the coffin so I need to hook up only one USB cable to connect players and external harddisk). Stuff like my wifi and such is all built into the coffin.

I ordered single flightcases for the 2900s when I got it, so I can easily unhook them from the coffin and stick them in those if I can’t bring the entire coffin for some reason.

I’ll agree with you that all this stuff is a lot of extra money. It’s why I said that I automatically add 25% to the price when I look at gear. If I can’t afford to buy it with a case, I am not getting it (yet).

I agreed with the flightcase being looks professional, but gosh darn it those thing are so heavvvvyyyyy !!!, I almost gave up on it and just leave it at home, and just put my controller on my backpack, but then again I read this, Grrrrr i hate you Chuck! <3 lol

I know, Rizki … story of my life LOL.

Good thing is my coffin has wheels. So the only two times I have to lift it, is when I take it out of storage and when I put in on my stand. The rest I roll it like a suitcase (like going on vacation right).

I AM currently looking for someone to go with me to gigs (have to start carrying lights as well) to help carry, build/breakdown and control the lights. Not getting any younger lol. Oh, and to get me drinks while I am on the decks, but that seems obvious.

    Greetinx.

    Thanks for the info, Vintage!

I’d love to be able to find that case around here, but living in Canada pickings are slim and overpriced unless you want to pay $300 to ship a $350 case 😛

I did find an odyssey coffin for $358.99 CAD, I’m not really sure if they’re a good brand or not.

I kind of want one of those ones with a little slide out table thing to put my beer on, but that’s not that important 😛
I guess thinking about it, that could lead to spills O_O

I’m just glad I’m not taking my turntables anywhere as well 😛 lol.

That is pretty much the same I have. Looks good and the price right too I’d say.

http://store.roadreadycases.com/dyn_prod.php?p=RRLAPT1&k=224582 will connect to the edge of your coffin (anywhere you like really) and if you look closely, it has a tray for your beer (use at own discretion!)

I was wonderin if you can add the wheels in my coffin ? or I have to buy a new coffin with already wheels in it?

You probably can, Rizki. Mine came with wheels though.
