KeymasterIt is a nice and fun controller.
However the layout and things are totally non-standard and while intuitive to some, very scary for others… kinda like the new MS office hehe.
It still falls into the category “entry” or consumer controllers, so many pros may look down on it, however it is perfectly fine to do a gig with and due to its small package is very easy to transport.
The price is not cheap for an all plastic construction.March 1, 2013 at 11:47 am #37378Showbiz Connor
Participanta mate of mine had one and took it back, he was trying to get it working with djay and was having difficulties. i’d co for the ergo if your looking at that type of product and want the pioneer brand

ParticipantI’ve been DJing for a long time, and work in the DJ products industry currently. I actually went to a GC to just get my hands on one to see what Pioneer were up to. I never had any intention of buying anything – especially since the WeGo is firmly out of what I would consider my level of DJing.
I was wrong.
The WeGo is not only a well built controller, but it’s also a BLAST to play with. It pains me to admit this, because Pioneer is a direct competitor to me, but credit where credit is due. After playing with that WeGo, I plopped down my credit card and bought it. And even though I have a pretty amazing setup, I still play with it regularly.
So I highly recommend the WeGo to anyone looking for a GOOD, low cost “all-in-one” style controller. It’s great kit.

MemberThat’s the kinda feedback I was looking for, thanks. I am now between the WeGo and Denon MC2000. After your experience with the WeGo which controller would you recommend? Also is there mapping for the WeGo for Traktor Pro?
Thanks again for the honset feed back.

ParticipantThe Denon stuff is built like a tank – all metal and solid-feeling. I like everything that they make. But I like the platters on the WeGo MUCH better than the Denon platters on the 6000 or 2000. And yes, there’s a Traktor TSI available on the Pioneer site for the WeGo.

KeymasterI agree Denon makes great gear, but they jogs are sub par.

ParticipantBe aware that the DDJ WEGO uses a lot of USB power and is only USB Powered. Make sure you have an additional powered USB hub just in case. It depends on the system you are using. This is based on a friend’s experience with his; it hung up 4 times in one night and he ended up plugging it into another external powered USB hub which resolved his hang issue . It is a very popular and portable little system and works with Serato, Traktor, and Virtual DJ.

Membernow i can get a wego for 300$ or a Ergo for 500$, portability is somewhat important to me but so is features… is the extra 200$ worth it for a bit of bulkyness?
a bit about me:
– starting at house parties, hoping to get into the clubbing/bar scene one day
– i’d say starting out i would travel a lot, which is why the wego appeals to me… but the dj ergo sounds like I could use it longer term as I get good
– its my first controller, so I figured the extra 200$ if i go with the wego can be used on headphones and purchasing songs
– i only use VDJ and its all i use which is why i like these two controllers
– my music would be alll over the place (edm, top 40, rock, rnb rap) but I’m all about just transitioning to the next song to the next while trying to keep the crowd moving. A little ADHD with my music actually ;PI’ve seen youtube videos of what the wego can do and its amazing! But perhaps the extra features on the ergo seemed better long term? but damn that portability is sure nice!

ParticipantThe DDJ Wego is being used by 2 other friends who do clubbing. It has plenty of features for anyone and is compatible with Traktor, Serato, and Virtual DJ, so you have a wide choice. Make sure you have an Intel i5 dual processor as an i3 can barely handle the resource load with Traktor and the WeGo, and my friend Mike’s system is red-lining frequently on the system resources. You also need a laptop that can handle the USB power requirements of this unit. Mike had to get an external powered USB hub as his WeGo was eating up more power than his i3 laptop could provide. He is upgrading his system. Also confirm it will run on a USB3 or USB2 connection. My Kontrol S2 only runs on a USB2 port and performs very well but can’t be detected by Traktor on a USB3 port. Having USB3 ports with a USB3 external drive is extremely useful for directory indexing and track loading speed especially if you get into mashups and fancy performing where load speed is crucial. Hope that helps and good luck.

Membergreat reply many thanks! I think I know what I want to buy now 😀
yeah my laptop is a asus g73 (gamer laptop, but now its a music machine hehe) so I’m not worried about power 😉 and it has a usb3 port too! YESSSS now which color hehe….
wow your two friends play in club events with the wego? i thought it looked so dinky that club owners would laugh at your face which is why i sorta wanted the ergo for “professional” looking reasons lol

Memberoh in Canada what web site is the best to get one of these? seems like 299 is the standard pricing but was wondering if there was a store in Toronto to snatch one up without waiting for delivery 😛

Memberhave seen it in use in a club.a 400-500 people one.the dj chose it over a pair of 1000s and a djm800. the sound quality was good but when the next dj came and used the pro gear the sound quality was much much better, i suggest much more traditional and cheaper designs.

Member^ very interesting post!!! thank you for the insight, I didn’t realize the soundcard made that much of a difference compared to the external equipment like speakers and amps!
its cool that the WEGO satisfied 500 people, whoa I’d be lucky to get 20 people to dance 😉
