All DJ software is fairly CPU bound, due to the fact that audio rendering is almost entirely done by the CPU. There is no dedicated component for this in computers. Some may have sound cards, but these only help with the quality of the output of the audio. DJing is one of the few cases where more CPU cores helps, (4-8) but you also need to check the quality of the cores. Intel’s i5 and i7 laptop CPU’s from their newest generation and the one previous are fairly sufficient, and AMD will be releasing their new ones (it’s been nearly 5 years) sometime Q1 2017. I’m currently running an Intel i5 7200U (Learn what the letters after CPU numbers represent, as well as about clock speed).
I’m not sure what else you could really do except try and cool your laptop better (CoolerMaster makes some nice cooling pads, I reccomend checking them out).
Also, check out this video to learn more about Intel CPUs
I don’t think more RAM is going to help in this case. If you’ve gone through all the optimizing and are still having issues, you may need to get more processing power (i.e. a new laptop).
Traktor is a fairly CPU intensive program, especially with effects running.
