I bought the Numark in a moment of necessary expedience, but I have kind of come to regret it, and have been wishing I bought the Re-loop. I think they are probably both great in their own way and worth the money, but one thing I don’t like about the Numark is you have to change the deck you’re listening to using a button up by the screens, which means you can’t just jump around your decks without having to hit an extra button up at the top of the mixer then back down to the controls for the track. (I hope that makes sense) It’s not a big deal, but sometimes a song choice can be a matter of last second selecting (for me anyways) and that extra step is annoying. Also, I don’t really find myself using the screens that much because I am used to my laptop and I tend to play from multiple playlists, whereas the screens probably work best if you’re just jumping around a single playlist. For what it’s worth I have never had my hands on the Re-loop, but I have a feeling I would like it better. Also the outputs on the Numark are limited to XLR, so if you show up somewhere and they only have 1/4 inch hookups you better have adaptors on you….which you really should anyways….but…..
    I hope this helps.

being a software dj….. u would actually find the NV’s screens pretty limiting and u will constantly be going back to ur laptop screen for some or the the other function. on the other hand, the TM8 sports way better build quality, better jogwheels, tone control over mic etc….. so it turns out that the TM8 actually is a better bang for the buck……

i’m pretty sure terry will have stuff to add to this 😉

I am using the TM8 for about since it came out now 🙂
I have tried the NV and I agree with Spars. The screens are a nice gimmick, but they are not totally useful to me. This might change with triple screens like the NS 7 III has, but the NV just too small and too limited in function.

If you have a small laptop (Macbook 13 or Air or XPS 13,…) then getting a low profile with a highly adjustable laptop stand (like the Crane) is just as easy to achieve. And if you are prone to getting “the stare” you will get it regardless if you stare at the screens or the laptop screen.
However the NV had some downsides for me in the lack of easy switching browsing functions and easy access to switch views on the laptop etc. This is a small feature on the TM8 that often gets overlooked (those 4 buttons around the scroll knob) which even more expensive controllers are lacking and I am constantly using.
