Mixtrack Pro 2, the RMX2 is a toy compared.

Hmm I thought people would advise the opposite… Could you provide any reasoning for this?
    Thanks, Alex

I think the RMX2 has smaller jogwheels than the MTP2, and well, judging from the number of pads on each deck, I highly doubt that the RMX2 even comes close to the MTP2.

However I can’t be 100% sure, I only have an MTP2 and its fabulous, I’m loving it!

I have the MTP 2 quad as a play around controller at home and I love everything about it!
The jogwheels are small but big enough to scratch, the pads for easy autoloop, loop in/out, set up to 4 hot cue’s(!), only downside is the effects (maybe just me).
But! the pitch isn’t inaccurate… (atleast not with vdj)
But I have never tried the RMX2 so I can’t give you an opinion on that… But if you’d ask me I’d say MTP 2 no doubt!

Glad you listened to the voice of reason Paul!

Seriously, to acknowledge your decision, Numark makes good DJ gear in the higher consumer/lower prosumer market (they have some semi-pro stuff at the high end, but that’s a different budget). Usually full-featured, well-built and with broad support from the leading DJ Software companies. The MTP2 especially has been on our ‘favorite starter controller list’ for a long time and with a reason, imho.

Hercules on the other hand makes low end consumer gear. It’s main attraction is it’s price. Like in the old days when I got my first recordplayer for xmas. It could play a record and produce sound, but it was no Technics SL-1200 or even an Akai or Sony or something. And while the RMX2 is at the high end of the Hercules range, it still breaths it’s heritage.

I am 100% positive that the MTP2 will give you a lot of fun and help you on your path to serious DJ-ing and will take longer for you to get to the point of wanting an upgrade than you would have with the Hercules.

Good luck and keep us posted.
