ok, so i just got the lpd8 and would not have a clue how to set it up or get any beats happening! do you have to download or buy any programs to use it on??? please healp me, im really keen to get this thing going

I am using this little gadget for smaller gigs like wedding ceremonies on the beach or outside little kiddie parties. I am having problems with the jog wheels not responding and using VDJ Pro. They seem to stop working or have very slow response only when I am outside in the sun. Should I get an external sound card for my laptop? Does anybody think this will help? Is my laptop heating up? I have since used a laptop cooler but doesn’t seem to help. The jog wheels are still not responding very well.

Actually, I believe the reason is that the jog wheels use a light beam. That would explain why they don’t work in sunlight. Just to test this theory I put my hand over the jog wheel to keep the sun out and sure enough it worked. I tried over and over again and same thing happened. So, no sunlight and the jog wheels work.
