    That option is mostly for arranging the files on your hard drive so that you get bands/artists into separate folder. I don’t know of all the SW out there that assumes too much about the iTunes file system instead of using the xml file for finding the material, but in general there should be no issues to re-arrange the folders, or keep them as they are in case you don’t need this internal re-arranging.

    This topic is of interest to me, because, like many others, all of my music is in ITunes. I do let Itunes organise my music. It means that when I do a backup I know I have everything, which makes it easier when uploading to my backup laptop. ITunes Media has all of my tracks. If I do not organise then I need to copy every folder in my Music library. I can not see the benefit of not organising. Am I missing something/ I use VDJ as my DJ software which works perfectly with ITunes.
