So ur MTP 3 main gain control doesnt work? Top knob in the center of the mixer on the controller? That’s no good. I mean you can always buy a separate mixer to plug into the controller that has master gain. A decent one would run you about $80-100 with 3-4 outputs.

The top knob is treble (high EQ), below that mid and low and filter. So no gain knob, Smittyman.

@ Mister F: No magic tricks I am afraid. On software that allows you to map things you could try mapping another button you don’t use (like an FX knob) to be gain, but it’s less than perfect and some software doesn’t allow users to change their own mapping.

I’m assuming you’re using Serato, which does allow you to map the gain control to something else. Although I don’t know if Intro allows this. Otherwise, the MTP3 is a controller aimed at beginners who rely on Auto gain.

Assuming that you don’t already have a more Professional oriented controller and not having a gain knob is a deal breaker, you can either sell it and/or start saving up for something like the Pioneer DDJ-SR (or SB2 if you still want an intro controller), Reloop Terminal Mix 4/8, or something along those lines.

I was close to buying the MTP3, but the moment I found out it had no gain knobs was an instant dealbreaker for me. Just ordered the DDJ-SB2 yesterday and I’m happy to have made this decision. Yes, you CAN map any other knob as the gain knob, but this means that you are forced to relinquish another useful feature just to have gain/trim control. Not cool imho!!

Hey … Traktor is selling jogwheel-less controllers. Also a dealbreaker for me (besides it needing Traktor software), yet there are people who like it that way.

Same thing here, some guys will just turn on autogain and don’t worry about it.
