Be interesting to see how it works. A few milliseconds of delay will only hurt scratch DJs I imagine. For “regular” cross-fading the delay might just be ok.

I agree with you, I was talking about scratch. I don’t know how it could help “non-scratching DJs”? Don’t they need the full mixer?

From the pictures, I’m guessing that it is aimed at tablet DJ’s who want some physical control without buying a huge bit of hardware (the exception being the Traktor Z1..).. I would therefore guess that the majority of people who use one will not be scratching a lot – who would scratch by choice on an tablet when you can get hardware controllers that are much more accurate and easy to use??

yeah … the crossfader is by far the handiest piece of mmm … touchware when tablet DJ-ing (lack of channel faders).

So replacing the touch bit by a wireless one isn’t a bad idea.

IMO, “hardware controllers” are not made for scratch. I don’t mean that a tablet screen will be better but when you know that a decent controller cost +300$ …

By “hardware controller” I simply meant any controller out there at the moment – from the (Sticking with tablets) Numark iDJ to the (Laptop based) Numark NS7 to the Traktor S8 to the (Laptopless) Pioneer XDJ-RX/XDJ 1000 to the (Old fashioned) CDJs..

Basically any of them (even one of these would be easier to scratch on than a tablet lol) 🙂

Hahaha I’m not sure about the Numark DJ 2 Go 😉

    Scratchers need turntables anyway..

@ Selim Jay: You need a talk with our Scratching for Controller DJs tutor Steve Canueto. He has scratched convincingly with this controller

Granted, that was hard work even for him, but it is totally feasible to scratch on controllers, either spinning or static platter. Those of us who have done the course have seen more than ample proof of that.

So, “scratchers need turntables” is truly just a myth.

Don’t get me wrong. I think everyone should use what works for him or her.

I would love to see that!

And I did not mean that it is not possible, just that it is not convenient at all ^^

Again, it all depends on what you are used to. I have seen some guys do absolutely out of this world stuff on controllers and I have seen scratching on turntables that made my eyes water. 😛

Here’s our friend DJ Angelo scratching on a Reloop Terminal Mix 8, just one example.

Hi DJ Vintage, thanks for the video — very instructive 😉

Just to let you know that they released new videos about Mixfader if you still want to know how it works.
