The general concensus for traktor is to use NI equipment. Especially if you want to use the jogs
Nothing intergrates as well as their own gear. Have you thought about an s2/s4?

    Hi Rory
    Thanks for your response
Yes the s4mk2 is the other controller I am thinking of.
My reason for thinking of the denon mc6000mk2 is that in the future I am looking into going mobile DJ

But I really like traktor but have reservations about NI equipment freeze issues. Are these still an issue?

I rarely gig out now and mainly do studio mixes and mixes for broadcast so I’m not going to be using lappy

I am running 64bit w7 8gb ram Intel xeon 4x 2.5 ghz so my PC is plenty powerful enough ( or is it )
.I think for now as I know traktor and don’t need a club set up at home a 4 channel controller is ideal and if you say NI is best fit for NI I will take that on board .
Are NI moving away from jog wheels all together now want with the s5 not having them ?

Also do you know that the s4 is able to midi sync with maschine? And it’s software as I would love to try that out and get into that too.

Sorry about the bombardment of questions .
Just I am old skool and just come from vinyl cdjs etc and know little or nothing about controllers .

As I mentioned in my first post I have just recently sold my entire kit except my kontrol f1 which I have a DJ endo 4 deck control mapping to keep me something to play with for now.

    Many thanks and regards

    Nathan

Frankly, the way Traktor is built makes it a not so good choice for mobile DJs, imho. It’s why I got rid of it after using for about 2 years (it came with my MC6000 when Traktor still happily supported 3rd-party hardware). It would just not handle my mobile DJ workflow that well. Stuff like flexible beatgridding (like Serato and Mixvibes offer for example) and some other things are missing and things like Remix decks are not really a very hot feature for the average “on-the-road” mobile DJ. If you play only Techno and scratch, I wouldn’t call you a mobile DJ. You’d just be a gigging Techno/Scratch DJ 😀

I’d say get a used S2 or S4, save some of your money. Go play with it, find out if it really fits your workflow. That way if a switch is needed in the future it won’t hurt so much.
