sounds like that’s the way to go to me. I always recommend try before you buy though.

Virtual DJ pro should be a good choice it’s has the simplicity you are looking for and can be tailored to do just what you want. If you have a mac you might consider Djay witch is the closes to 2 vinyls and 2 channel mixer out of the box looking software. Traktor will also do the job you can set it to show only 2 decks and how much info you like on screen.

will probably go for PC than a MAC, with a MAC i feel that i will be paying for something i wont use to its full potential.

    thanks for the response though.

one more thing with Virtual DJ their policy is that you pay once and all future updates are free.

If you want it to be easy you need to think again IMO.

With PC you need to turn of a lot of things and install ASIO drivers that might be in conflict with other ASIO drivers
turn of virus progs and auto updates and so on and so on…
In Mac you do nothing of that.
You install your SW and chose that soundcard and of you go.
Now you have already saved up to a week of work.
With Mac you do not need to be a computer wizard to get it to work.
Also if you have bad luck and drop your computer in the ground if it is a PC the ugly plastic will brake and if it is a Mac in worst case you will get a scratch in the beautiful aluminium chassies.
That is a lot of Macs potential and you will use it if you are to install and use the computer as a DJ.

If you look at the second hand market and be sure it is a Mac with INTEL processor then you will be fine and it will not cost you more than a PC.

Through my experience I’ve used both Virtual DJ and Traktor Pro.

Both have their advantages, and both you can try before you buy.

Virtual DJ is much simpler. This is how I started DJing at a pretty young age.

Traktor is more complicated but a much better application. I personally think it’s more professional and, depending on your Controller/What decks you’re using, I think Traktor integrates better.

Ps, if you have the money, get the Mac. Again, having used both, my macbook is so much better. But then again, my PC was pretty cheap.. The mac is an investment though. I look forward to having mine for another 5 years.
