I would not get an extra sub. 2x 12″ with one 18″ sub is working fine for me and I don’t take the sub half the time (well maybe not 35% of the time ;-)).

If you need that much extra power, just rent and have the rental people take care of transport and setting up. If it’s that big a party they better realize the cost of gear rental and be wiling to ante up.

Very well…then more lights maybe. Or an upgrade from VDJ LE to Pro?

I’d say lights are good. Where smarter lights are better lights. Redesigning my light collection (small as it is) to only incorporate the battery-powered wireless DMX pieces from American DJ. The reason I went solo from the mobile DJ compay I was with, was that my customers wanted a DJ with just sound for smaller parties. With the company it was always a truck, 2 people and light took up most space and definitely most time to set up.

Now some of my customers have started to ask about lights. Since the parties are still too small for full fledged 2-person setups and/or renting lighting gear and I really don’t want to be lugging around all the extra weight, I decided to go with the GO-series with wireless DMX. At least I don’t have to worry about all the cabling anymore.

An upgrade to the Pro version of the software of your liking is ALWAYS a good plan too!

VDJ Pro is a very worthwhile investment. It will give you the ability to do video dances down the road, plus once you’ve paid you get free updates for life.

As far as lighting goes, a couple of double derbies would probably compliment your current kit pretty nicely.
