Keep an eye on the new gear coming out of NAMM 2015. The reviews and talkthrough vids on the blog!

The MC4000 seems a contender for a compact 2-channel controller at a very affordable price with the proverbial Denon build quality (it’ll last forever on the road).

It’s got pads (4 of them), but you could do the same as with the TM8 and get the Neon.

Actually the TM8 already has all the pads you need. You only need the Neon when you want native Flip controls.

Yeah that’s why I was getting it was for serato flip. So between. The TM8, numark nv and pioneer sr which do you recommend or is there another controller besides those thay I should get. I’m looking to order in the next day or 2.

The TM8 is the most complete controller out of the triple.
The NV has screens, which I do not like, since they do not show valuable information and I have to use the laptop anyways. Unless they do at least the screens in the size of an iPad mini with retina resolution, those screens are pretty useless.
The SR is too tuned down for me and I dislike the jogwheels.

Ok cool looks like im gonna get the TM8, last questions. I’ve heard pEople saying tat the Traktor s4 is great, is it better than the TM8 or no? Just double checking

Different animals. As we have said before, when you get to this level of controllers, personal taste and workflow trump everything. Also Traktor gear works best with Traktor software and the other way around.

Ok makes sense, I guess I shouldn’t change since all I’ve been using is serato. Thanks for the help guys, TM8 and reloop neon it is!

Hey terry, so other than the screens are the TM8 a d nv close to being the same or no? I only ask cause there is a better deal on the nv thAn the TM8 where I’d be saving close to $150 and also getting a free laptop stand. if the TM8 is truly better and decent margin I’m willing to pay the extra, just want to make sure

    Better depends:
If you like your pads lower under the jogs, then the NV has that.
The TM8 has way better jogs in my opinion, hence if you are doing a lot on your jogs and like to scratch TM8 all the way. The size of the pads is a little bigger on the TM8 and for my workflow the position of the knob to select tracks and the back/load/view switching buttons on the TM8 are much more ergonomically placed.

Many things are also about getting used to what you use… so overall the TM8 is the more solid controller for me. But as I said YMMV (your mileage may vary).
