ParticipantIt seems like a fairly standard music video, fits right in I suppose. The only things I found strange were the lip synching of the singer was out in places near the start, and near the end when there’s a close up of the lady’s hand, her hand looks like it’s been in a boxing glove and punching crap outta something, might be better in black and white that part.

KeymasterI find the music video excellent and very well directed and photographed.
However the song is a totally different matter. The singer obviously has an excellent voice and talent, but she sings sometimes (I do not know maybe to show off?) some light deep tones with wrong intonation, she easily recovers in under a second, but with good ears you can hear it and it should have been re-recorded.
Also she clearly needs a vocal coach as she focuses on hitting the high tones right (which she does) but then the English pronunciation is out of the window. So I do not know who the producer is, but production wise this is weak as she clearly has more potential.May 20, 2013 at 2:21 pm #40551ElMuppet
ParticipantTotally agree with both of you. I love the video, it is made by my schoolmate (he is 18) and the story but I also agree with Terry about potential and production.
The producer is German and there is quite a little story behind that. He didnt want this video to come out, he made his own changes and made totall nonsence out of the story. But the singer (another schoolmate of mine) changed the password on her Youtube channel and posted this music video. The producer went mad and said that, if she dont reach certain amount of views in one hour he will unsign with her. But video went kinda viral 🙂 and got 1000 views in one hour and you can see that is has more than 8k now.
So they are all fine.May 21, 2013 at 2:16 am #40570Tevin

KeymasterThat explains a lot. Many german producers are weak on music production. Even some chart hits in germany use sounds that are overcompressed have bad english language and sound effects that you might think come from a childs tool…
Sadly they get away with it as the casual listener does not seem to care and PR, radio time and pressing money into the production marketing are more important…May 21, 2013 at 1:25 pm #40587ElMuppet
ParticipantThanks a lot Terry

ParticipantAnd btw. Video was made with pretty much no money-50€ for ring, and the old man with flowers on the graveyard is one of Slovenian greatest actors: he got greatest national award for acting this year. He would cost them few thousand euros just for a few parts he acted in. He is Boris Cavazza btw.
This is great example how important is knowing certain people.May 21, 2013 at 5:13 pm #40592ElMuppet
ParticipantAs you can see, video is no longer available because producer said that he gonna go with the case on court if she won’t remove the video in 24 hours 🙁
He probably missed 8k views and he rather have no video than video that he doesn’t like.May 21, 2013 at 8:45 pm #40599Terry_42
KeymasterOk I cannot swear on the forums, as I have to set a good example, but if I could the time for it would be now.
I recommend she should ditch the producer asap … nothing good will come from it. (Unless he promises endless marketing money and make her famous, then she should ditch him after the first bought hit album. Actually buying one week of #1 in Germany/Austria/Switzerland is quite affordable…)May 22, 2013 at 1:58 pm #40620ElMuppet
ParticipantTy. She actually can’t change producer for the next three months. She signed for 6 years but she can leave after two.
And she already have “a ticket to LA”. She is moving there in august and she’s staying there. That was her plan anyway.May 22, 2013 at 1:58 pm #40621ElMuppet
ParticipantTy once again for many great tips Terry

KeymasterWow LA they have good producers 😉
But very hard business wise there, tell her to be prepared for a lot of very very hard work and slow progress. Never give up and have a thick hide when living in LA as music people there can be pretty harsh and the business is harsh in general. Stand up for your principles and not sell out on the first opportunity is the key. Hope she makes it, wish her good luck!
(Obviously I didn’t hehe)May 23, 2013 at 2:25 pm #40663ElMuppet
