As for the stand:
For a DJ the current stand is IMHO not practical. It is very similar to a stand from Magma I believe where as the Magma is at least a bit adjustable in height.
The second thing that bothers me is the large footprint. I love my Crane stand because I can cramp it in almost anywhere and turn it around the way I like it. Also it will never wobble on any uneven surface you put it on.
So for me the Crane is still the perfect stand and to get me excited you would have to beat that one and that is not easy.
However I can see this stand working extremely well in an office or workshop. I have one of those Magma stands in my office right now and I would largely prefer the kickstarter one for it looks sleek and seems perfect height. Also it is much more portable so I could throw it into my bag when on a business trip.
