If your cable length does not go beyond 2m from your RCA outputs to the inputs of the PA mixer or house mixer, then you are fine. The sound card in the Beatmix is top quality.

Yep, bar a few really low end controllers, all the ones you mention (as well as MixTrack Pro 2, Denon MC2000 to name a few) have decent to good sound cards that will give you no problems CD-quality which, imho, is plenty good enough for club and PA systems.

Only thing that would worry me is that Trakor (software) has gotten to the point where it really only works well with Traktor hardware (especially jog wheel performance). So considering the S2 or S4 should be on your checklist to, I think.

Thank you very much. Yeah, I would like to get my hand on the traktor hardware but it’s a little bit higher than my budget 😛

The best way to use traktor is with a traktor controller.

Get on eBay and find an s4 (or s2). I got mine (a mk2) for less than 500. Another option is getting a z1 and X1. Small, portable, modular, and I got the combination for less than 300.

Traktor offers quite an easy midi mapping feauture available for the most controllers. Why would you say I need a traktor controller if I can get the job done with other brands too? :O

1st because the more advanced mapping things in Traktor are not so easy, unless you are a tech wiz then of course go for it.

2nd because some features (high resolution HID mode for tight scratching on jogwheels, low latency settings etc.) are only available with Native Instruments hardware. Hence your DJing experience with non NI hardware will always be less than with the NI controllers.

DJ Vintage, I just saw the new mixtrack pro 3. I guess I should wait for my purchase a little bit, uh? 😛 Do you think they will release an official traktor mapping for it? Also, what’s that thing on the effects panel?

Yep, both the new MTP3 and the Denon MC4000 seems like sweet new starter controllers.

    I totally agree.
Nikos that depends on the final release of the product, as far as I have been told the units at NAMM were late prototypes. So production units could be shipping next month or in a few months time. But keep checking the webstite we are usually one of the first sites to review new gear.
