    Thank you for that link!

    I was also looking at the DJ io. I am assuming this is just as good or maybe better sine it would be better for Discover DJ. I am just starting out with my setup and I am enjoying doing it, but I don’t know much.

    Nope dont buy that. If you have the hundred bucks, get the NI audio 2, wayyyy better device

    Well, I am probably going to go with the first one you posted. It is very inexpensive and the reviews are amazing for it.

    One more quick question FileSpnr, since it seems you know about this stuff. How do the plugs work from the back U-Control? I know this is probably a really dumb question, but I am new to this. There is the input and output, do they plug into the back of the speakers &/or the computer? The reason I ask is because I have a Logitech sound system. It does not have any input or output ports in the back. It has 1 cord that goes straight into the computer.

    If I do have to plug this into the back of the speakers, I will look into getting a new sound set up & then buying this.

    That’s actually a common question.
    Are the speakers that you have connected to the computer with USB? Or do they plug into the headphone port?
    If they are USB, then the computer will think of them as an audio interface, same as the uca202. If this is the case, then yea you will not be able to use them with the uca202.(although it is possible in some instances to use multiple interfaces, let’s assume that may be asking a bit much for your situation right now)
    If the speakers plug into the headphone out, you only need a “Y-cable” & a ” barrel” connector. Y-cables are about $7 @ radio shack, the barrel connector connects the two cables; the cable from your speakers & the Y-cable, which connects to the uca202 with the RCA end.

    Yes, they plug into the headphone port. The information you gave me tonight was SO helpful. I appreciate all the help you gave me. Now I know exactly what I need to do to get this started.

    Random question is this how your set up/most sets ups are now a days for people using computers?

    Yep, pretty much, with varying degrees of complexity
    So, you do know about ASIO4ALL right? This is a free driver, and it’s really good. You can use right away. You would still need the interface for pre-listening and cueing, but you could at least get a better control from the disco. Are you using cross, in the settings does it say wasapi?

    Go into Traktor pro settings and click import, and select the TSI I made
    Then set the midi device to discover DJ

    You should use asio4all with Traktor pro, also.
    Asio4all is like turning your on-board sound device into pro quality

    Hi i have a Numark Mixtrack , and because they dont have a built in soundcard, i bought the Behringer UCA222. Unfortunately i cannot cue the any songs, when i do they just come out through the master, i need help !

    My humble advice to OP:
    Asio4all, as good as it is, is a generic soundcard driver…..Although it may help a guy who’s experimenting with DJ software and is not already sure if this kind of thing is HIS thing…I wouldnt recommend it as a permanent solution….I have witnessed situations where the onboard soundcard was producing noise due to being poorly electrically isolated and other parts of the computer operating would cause audible noise through the speakers.
    Also, dedicated asio drivers come bundled with soundcards and are specifically designed for the specific hardware to achieve low latency and stability. If you finally decide to stick with DJing, I would advise you to buy a dedicated soundcard for the task. As mentioned, NI’s Audio 2 (now called Traktor 2) is an affordable device, compatible with all Windows OS (up to widnows 7 64bit). it just plain works. 😉
    Of course, I repeat in order to not be misunderstood, there’s nothing wrong with Asio4All to be used as a way of getting to know things and decide if you are sticking with this “hobby” or not, without splashing out cash.

    I suggest that you two buy a controller with built in soundcard.
    The cheapest that IMO is something to throw many at is the Numark Mixtrack Pro.

    Otherwise you will need a soundcard and for DJ purpose I would suggest getting a NI Audio 4

    If you look at the money it will proberbly be more cost effective with the built in soundcard
    and also more portable = one less device to bring.

    Also IMO Jimmy should reconsidder not swaping from Windows Vista as it is IMO the worst OS that money can buy.
