    i still don’t know if the speakers are the sound source…google won’t answer that

    Yes the speakers are the sound source.

    Hi Jack. DJ controllers have a “midi controller” (ie they control your DJ software’s knobs, faders etc) and they have an “audio interface” (usually, anyway), which “produces” all the sound you need to DJ with, meaning your computer doesn’t “make” any of the sound. In other words, yes – they are the sound source. You plug your amp and speakers or powered speakers. and your headphones, directly into the DJ controller.
