ParticipantYeah its a bitch when stuff like that happens…I’ve had my Traktor Crash on me once during a gig.
What i do now a days to make sure stuff like this doesnt create problems for my sets are:
I always use a DJ mixer as well as my S4…most of the times i am not the only DJ so there will be 2 cdjs a mixer and my S4.
I always keep a couple of USB sticks around with all my current music as well as my Iphone with my latest pre recorded mix just in case stuff goes wrong…For smaller gigs like bars and what not its not that big of a deal…but when you are playing for 1000+ people and you have the entire dancefloor gripped by their proverbial ballz the last thing u want is your gear to cut out.I’m happy you were able to just keep going and not make it awkward for your entire dance floor…that is the most important part.

Participantim a fellow ns6 user and had this happen to me also, but it really wasn’t a hardware problem. my 1st computer was a pc from like 2005 and the specs were just border line to run itch. had a gig of ram when they recommend 2 etc. i was due anyhow for an upgrade so i went Macbook pro 15inch late 2011 (bought it new) and I have yet to run into an issue with the computer. Now, numark supplies a pretty crappy usb 2.0 cable. For whatever reason, itch would just sometimes freeze and then not respond forcing a restart which sucks in front of a crowd. I knew it wasnt the computer, 75% it wasnt the ns6, so I swapped out the usb 2.0 cable from my buddies mixtrack pro and presto; no more issues. since then ive upgraded to an usb 2.0 with gold connections. problem solved. as far as cross fader, i bent mine upwards during transportation once and now it bleeds a tiny bit on the left side, but thats my fault. Ive called numark and the sell new tighter crossfaders for like $50 U.S. itch will act funny when the connection between the hardware and software are not in sync. Do you still have this crossfader issue? I recommend to swap out usb cords and if the problem persists, look to make sure your computer is in specs. if that checks out, contact numark, hold times are a little long but someone will answer, and have a tech help you troubleshoot it with you. this is free of charge to you. if that fails, i hope you bought an extended warranty from your retailer as I always do for electronics, and send it in if none of this helps. good luck bro!

ParticipantMaybe it was the usb cord. I have a Mixtrack Pro as well so I’ll try using that cord instead next time to see the results. The crossfader just has a mind of its own, and it doesn’t really fade other then cutting out one channel when it is completely to the other side. Being in the middle is no different then being a small bit from the left or right side if you understand what I mean. I have a Toshiba Satellite with Windows and I ordered this computer maxed out for performance so I can’t imagine it being the issue with ITCH. Everytime i exit ITCH program it says “This program has ended unexpectadly” or something along those lines. I’m not sure what its issue is… One last question! How can I get a Mic to come through the speakers? I tried the inputs on the back to no avail.

o you can adjust the crossfader in the hardware menu in itch. as for the mic i use channel 3 in the back 1/4 plug, you got to move a button from pc to line by the eq knobs. really simple

and btw, you have to exit itch first then power off the ns6. there is a “hang” that serato knows about but they haven’t quite figured out the bug

Participantim currently at my next little gig and the mic wont make any noise. for some reason switching from line to mic doesnt make it work at all.
