    Yes, I use a M-Audio USB Midi Keyboard with Maschine and it works fine, you have to set it up correctly in the preferences though, please refer to the manual or NI’s Maschine tutorial videos. They explain that really well.

    For that price range I would go for a pair of KRK Rockit 6s and invest the leftover money in isolation pads (sometimes come in bundles with KRKs, check out your dealer) and a decent desk stand so the speakers are in the correct height. (Or build the stands yourself from cheap Ikea parts, like I did hehe)

    And I am assuming you really like this setup? any regrets or changes?

    Wow it is an really old one. I doubt they still make it. It has a standard piano layout with semi-weighted keys, a pitch/bend controll on the left side, 2 buttons to switch the octaves and only 4 faders and thats it.
    It was really cheap also, I think far below 100 bucks.

    $600 pair means medium quality ones. I would actually go with the Yamaha HSM ones. But I’ve seen the light with mid-range speakers, Even 20/30s. $600 each but finally I’m in the middle of the sound, not outside. And not dependent on a cross-over at 2k. Bliss.
