My DJ software is Serato ScratchLive and here’s why… the turntable will always be my first choice of control surface.
However if its not available to me at the venue I’m booked at I can still use SSL with only a controller that will provide access to enough MIDI functionality that I can still perform in a way that doesn’t alter my workflow too much.

My name is fubar and I’m an alcoholic. Wtf, wrong place… My DJ software is Serato Itch, and this is why: I’m not that geeky and I like most music enough not to trash it with bad live mashups and fx. Plus it works without a hitch, I’m not even updating versions to keep everything as it is, working and familiar.

My DJ software is Mixmeister Fusion. I like it for its work flow. It is a digital sequencer designed for live use, and works very well. Rather than the usual moving wave forms passing a cursor, replicating a spinning disc passing the needle or laser, it has static wave forms and a moving cursor.

I use virtual dj LE that came with my hercules rmx ,it is excellent in performance,I’ve numark dj to go with vdj LE, again this is an excellent combination,I’ve got mixtrack with tractor now this is a horrible combo .Everybody says Tractor is the boss in Digital djing ,but I’m really sorry I dont agree to this ,maybe I could’nt understand this software I don’t find it user friendly at all ,it is very difficult to configure with the hardware for me ,Secondly the most important thing the search engine BAD,even my bcd2000+bdj is still good. Then I’ve got ns7 with itch ,this is too an excellent combo,..In the end I’d say hats off to vdj ,I love playing on it . Its a very friendly software ,it hides nothing ,one click on config & u see each & everything & the language is simple

My DJ software is Traktor and this is why. Traktor is the one I feel most comfortable with, and I find it easily to use then the other software. I also like how easy is to to map your controller with it.

I use Serato Intro at the moment. My mixtrack pro came with VDJ, but it was sort of glitchy for some reason I couldn’t figure out, so I downloaded the new Serato Intro. I like the parallel waveforms a lot. Tried Traktor as well, didn’t find it very inuitive or easy to work witj, though that might by cause of the bad job I did mapping it… and that’s the strength of Searto, it’s just plug and play, I don’t want to be messing around with mappings.

I use Traktor because I find it the easiest to use. I found a decent mapping for my RMX that I have slightly tweaked over time. Use to spin with VDJ but I just didn’t enjoy it. As soon as I used traktor, I was hooked.

My 1st experiences with digital (after being a analoge vinyl Dj), was to make “cut & paste” mixtapes in Wave format with Cool Edit Pro.
After that i’ve experimented with DSS Dj, Mixx, AtomixMP3 (the ancestor of VirtualDJ), eJay DJMixStation (the old name of VirtualDJ Home), but these programs i find it very difficult to mix with.

When i started with VDJ 5.07, it appeares to me that this is the Dj software i could more easier work with.
Now a few years later i’ve upgraded my VDJ 5.07 into VDJ 7 Pro Full with a Hercules Dj 4Set controller.

I’m very happy to work with this software, and i find i very userfriendly. My experience is that VDJ is a very solid program to Dj with. I really don’t understand why people claim that “Traktor” seems to be more professional than VDJ ?

As i see the layout of a Traktor screen, i looks to me more complex to use and also not user friendly at all

I use VDJ Pro ver. 7, just recently purchased it in the last month, for a while i was using PCDJ Red Mobile before I had a controller, for about 2 years, last year on a whim I bought a used Numark Stealth controller just to get my feet wet. It came with traktor le, I didn have external sound card, so I struggled some with that, played around with mixmeister fusion, I like that for studio type stuff, I like the feel (so to speak) of VDJ, already looking to upgrade controller, but I’m opting for becoming proficient with what I have,

I use Traktor 2 because of it’s high sound quality and amazing amount of options. Combined with midi controllers, it really gives you the power to adjust everything to your own preferences.

I just wondering : is the LE version of VDJ not too limited in available options for you ? If you use the VDJ 7 Pro Full version you have all the options of VDJ available. I also say “hats off to vdj ,I love playing on it”. And Tractor looks to me also not user friendly at all.

Coming into DJ’ing from a producer background I prefer MixMeister Fusion simply because the workflow more closely resembles the production DAW’s I’m familiar with whereas most DJ software (other than MixMeister or Ableton) have a workflow that resemble a virtual 2 deck scenario.

There is one big downside I’ve experienced with MixMeister & that is the lack of compatibility with MIDI controllers …not many options out there. I’m actually interested in seeing more about The One software that I read about on this site.

My DJ software is Traktor Pro 2, and this is why: Because after using it’s the software that is best for the way I like to work. Been using VDJ pro for some time but I feel that Traktor is better when it comes to cue jumping (juggling) It just has a better work flow for my style. I don’t do video mixing but I have setup one computer for karaoke in the upstairs bar at our club and that VDJ is perfect for. Traktor has better FX, waveforms, custom mapping (no need to be a rocket scientist) but the browser in VDJ is by far the best

My DJ software is Serato Itch, and this is why: Because it works perfectly with my Novation Twitch and is tightly integrated. The software is simple and has a very clean layout. The effects are all I need and of course the Fader FX and Loop rolls are fantastic. Oh, and the software company is from New Zealand, my homeland!!
