ParticipantI’m not in the US, but I believe you have access to Pandora? However my favourite is Last.fm as its great way of finding new music, can you access that?

Do you guys use any of these or recommend another?
I would love to find one that has a wide EDM selection, but would also love Rock and Top 40’s.
Why not see if you can get a free trial and see?

MemberI actually ended up doing this yesterday night. I did a trial of both Rhapsody and Rdio. I actually like Rdio’s layout more than Rhapsody. One of the big disappointments in both cases was the lack of available content from some of my favorite artists: Ismael Serrano, Led Zeppelin, Tool, and Metallica =/
I’m gonna give the new Napster a try later today and see if they have more of a variety.

MemberYeah just a heads up Led Zeppelin are like the beatles in terms of licensing their music and it will be a big deal when they will be available for streaming – I think it’s the same with Metallica. I do like Rdio though better than Rhapsody but Rhapsody is a pretty decent service. The DI radio app is great for EDM.

MemberHave a listen to Pointblank FM. It’s a London based house music station that I happened apon on the radio while I was up there. Hooked ever since. They stream music on a wide variety of sources.

He’s actually talking about a music-on-demand service where you pay a subscription for access to catalogues of all types of music on your iPhone, desktop etc.

Spotify is APPARENTLY coming to the Sattes in the next week or so… that’s not perfect, though, there are still gaps.

MemberI’m using MOG right now. It’s decent on library selection, nice mobile capabilities, the interface sucks though, I recently tried to keep a party jumping using it when I was without any other options and its lag time was really pissing me off.
While in London I played with SPOTIFY quite a bit and absolutely loved it! It’s not perfect but it’s far, far above anything we have access to in the States. I really hope it is coming soon. I’ve been hearing that for a while now.

MemberCan someone say perfect timing?

Actually, this morning while browsing through twitter, Trent Reznor (one of my favorites musicians of all time forever and ever) was praising the website while posting the link.
Very excited!

KeymasterIt’s not perfect because it has gaps… but I couldn’t live without it now.

ParticipantIs Spotify an “on demand” service? Or more like Satellite Radio with shows?
My reluctance on streaming services or even the cloud is that I can’t trust internet connections to be solid and fast enough to cater to my needs. I have been tempted to get into satellite radio for the shows so I can hear what the bigger names are pumping.

It’s seamless “on demand”.

MemberI have to say, my experience with Spotify has been exceptional. It almost never buffered and the mobile abilities were phenomenal. Sometimes you hit a limitation wall as far as their library goes… it took about a year for Baths album to make it on there, but all and all, it’s an incredibly impressive service.
